The 50th Italian Championship of the historic Windsurfer class is scheduled from 16 to 19 May in Mondello. For this tricolor event, there will be around 100 athletes meeting in the Sicilian capital.
Among the most anticipated athletes in the race is the veteran from Palermo Alessandro Alberti who celebrated his birthday just three days ago. Alberti is the 2022 overall world champion and Italian champion in 2023 also in the Windsufer class. However, there are several Italian titles on the board. Here are his feelings on the eve of the 50th Italian championship.
“Unfortunately, due to an annoying allergy that has been persecuting me for about a week – says Alberti – I am not at my best, but fortunately I still have one day to recover my energy and compete at my best. There will certainly be no shortage of renowned athletes, both young and old, and I’m not just talking about the people from Palermo, but also some specialists from Tuscany.”
“Undoubtedly – he continues – for us Palermitans to be able to take part in such an important event without having to travel is something magnificent.
